Intersectionality and Perspectives Project
The intersectionality and perspectives project looked at the different sides of every story. We watched a ted talk about the "danger of a single story", the inherent problems with taking one side of the story as the absolute truth. we also looked at "The stories of people on Race" a collection of videos the New York Times has collected of people from different perspectives talking about race relations. After exploring these and more, we spent time in Socratic seminars discussing what it meant and how we should move forward. This led to the conception of the project. If you look at the other pages, you can see more about the process.
This project for me was way more fun than I originally thought it was going to be. When it started, we spent most of the time discussing, reading, and annotating. By the end of it though, we were writing stories and working together to make our projects better. I'm really proud of how things finally turned out and learned a lot about reading analysis.
As I move into senior year, I think I should set goals more often. I usually had a daily to do list and it really helped me stay accountable and productive. It will be a great way to deal with the complexity that comes along with the end of high school.
